UK car thieves are increasingly targeting prestigious models including Mercedes-Benz, with the C-Class and the E-Class among the top 10 most stolen models in 2014, according to stolen vehicle recovery specialist TRACKER.1

No longer are thieves reliant on cars that will succumb to a coat hanger, with more adept criminals capable of overriding entire security systems. While car companies are continuously innovating to stay one step ahead, it’s more important than ever to have an added layer of security, which is why Mercedes-Benz Retail Group has worked with TRACKER to offer customers two exclusive products to keep cars close.

The TRACKER vehicle recovery device is a small tracking system hidden within the car that, once activated, will track your vehicle using Very High Frequency technology, even capable of penetrating garages. For added security, TRACKER Plus combines this with GPS and GSM, powering signal-jamming detection to resist criminals trying to block the connection.

In the UK, a car is stolen every five minutes and half are never found.2 With a TRACKER device however, the only stolen vehicle recovery product operated by all UK police forces, this figure rises to 95%, with 86% returned within 24 hours.3 If you’d like to find out more, the Mercedes-Benz Retail Group team on hand to help ensure your Mercedes-Benz stays safe.
