German automotive manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has signed Serbian tennis legend Novak Djokovic as a brand ambassador. Fusing speed, power and a strong work ethic, Djokovic embodies the principles of the Mercedes-Benz range to perfection. The manufacturer hopes that he will work as a shining example to its employees and customers alike.

The partnership between Mercedes-Benz and Djokovic is certainly fitting. Djokovic drives an A-Class car in his hometown, and he has long appreciated the sleek, smooth style of the brand. The refinement of the A-Class hides a deep, ferocious power, and the same can be said of Djokovic’s tennis style. Though poker faced, and a model of composure, Djokovic is capable of sudden bursts of power and athleticism that his opponents find impossible to deal with.

Djokovic is now considered the number one tennis player in the world by the Association of Tennis Professionals. A six-time Grand Slam winner, the 25-year-old’s off-court charisma has charmed his few critics. His obvious passion for the sport will translate into his duties for Mercedes-Benz.

While playing an important role in the promotion of the Mercedes-Benz brand, Djokovic will also support the brand’s varied humanitarian efforts. Upon accepting the role, he explained his delight at joining the “world’s leading automobile company,” and his excitement at being involved on the “national and international level.”

Mercedes-Benz has collaborated with great athletes throughout its illustrious history. Indeed, the brand has one of the world’s seminal Formula One teams, with Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg currently in the driver’s seats of its AMG racers.
