The release of the next generation Mercedes-Benz SUV, the new GLC, set tongues wagging and hearts racing last week at its World Premiere in Metzingen, Germany.

Available to purchase in October, the excitement around the launch of the new crossover SUV got us thinking about our current range and why they are so well loved.

Offering size and practicality, but not compromising on the style and power of your typical Mercedes-Benz, our Sports Utility Vehicles have got it all.

Four-wheel drive

The G-Class is unrivalled for its capabilities both on and off-road. Since 1979 the G-Class has retained its distinctive appearance and strength, whilst still offering a little bit of luxury. With a four-wheel drive system, and sophisticated suspension technologies, the G-Class can take on any terrain with agility.

Space

With AirMATIC air suspension, the GL-Class maintains a constant ride height no matter how many bits of baggage you may have loaded in to the maximum 2,300 litre cargo capacity. Not only providing space, it has a certain stability that you long for when packing ‘everything and the kitchen sink’ in to your vehicle.

The icing on the cake is the versatile three rows of seats, so you can comfortably accommodate seven adults, ready for a day trip, road trip or just an evening out, the GL-Class will deliver space as well as exceptional comfort and practicality.

Style

If you’re looking for elegance, the GLA-Class is the answer. The muscular features, 18-inch five-twin-spoke alloy wheels, privacy glass and chrome detailing on the exterior, matched with the sleek and sporty interior, makes for a stunning car.

Pair this with the modern turbocharged four-cylinder engines, ECO start/stop function, superior efficiency of up to 62.8 mpg and cutting edge technology throughout you will find that the GLA-Class really ticks all the boxes in style.

Performance

The M-Class has permanent four-wheel drive with Four-Wheel Electronic Traction System ensuring optimum performance whatever the terrain. Coupled with impressive diesel and petrol engine options, the M-Class has up to 525hp under the bonnet, can cover 0-62mph in up to 4.8 seconds and offers up to 49.6mpg; delivering exceptional performance and efficiency for a vehicle of its class. Not bad for a car that weighs up to 2,345kg.

With such a versatile range on offer, we’re sure to have the right SUV to suit your needs. Book a test drive today at your local Mercedes-Benz Retail Group dealership and experience the excitement for yourself.

Can’t wait for October, see the GLC in action here.
