Mercedes-Benz Sales Academy – The Class of 2015

July 10, 2015 • Uncategorized

‘The best or nothing’ is what we at Mercedes-Benz Retail Group strive for every day and our staff are no different. The Mercedes-Benz Sales Academy takes talented individuals and turns them into representatives of Mercedes-Benz quality so we can truly give you a ‘best or nothing’ experience.

Each member of the Sales Academy undertakes an in-depth 12-month programme to ensure they can deliver the high levels of customer service required to be a part of the Mercedes-Benz family. Our stars of the future are supported by one-to-one mentoring as well as shadowing the sales teams to make sure they are able to represent the Mercedes-Benz marque to the highest standard.

Over the coming weeks we will be catching up with a few of our Sales Academy students and mentors to find out a bit more about them and their journey.

This week we caught up with Muna Jama, one of our budding Sales Executives from the class of 2015 for a quick Q&A.

MBRG Blog – Hi Muna, so why did you apply for the Sales Academy programme and what do you hope to achieve?

Muna – I was at a point in my life where I desired change, so I decided to explore my options. Around this time, my mother had been keen on purchasing a Mercedes-Benz vehicle, despite her not continuing with the purchase, witnessing the experience, I immediately felt this was exactly the environment, support and career development I needed, so I applied online.

MBRG Blog – What has been your biggest challenge and your biggest achievement in your career so far?

Muna – Automotive language has been the toughest challenge. No two days have been the same for me since I’ve started my career journey, and this is what excites me and keeps me motivated. I’ve been to places I wouldn’t even have thought of and I’ve really enjoyed my experiences and have learnt to understand and appreciate the art of the vehicle, it’s not just a body on wheels, it’s craftsmanship.

MBRG Blog – Now that you have a made a start, what are you most looking forward to as a part of the Sales Academy programme?

Muna – I am most looking forward to Global Training, this summer I have been invited to Portugal to view the new generation Mercedes-Benz passenger cars. I am honoured to have been able to join Mercedes-Benz during an era of change and I intend to absorb as much knowledge as possible to put in to practice when I return to my retailer.

MBRG Blog – What have you learnt that has surprised you in your first module (customer service)?

Muna – I have discovered every Sales Executive has a unique style of qualifying a customer, through this method you are able to meet the customers’ demands and needs. I find this very helpful as I will establish my own style of qualifying, to gain a better understanding of my customer’s exact needs so that I can ensure that they have the best possible experience.

MBRG Blog – Out of our vast range, what is your favourite Mercedes-Benz model?

Muna – All the models have outstanding features and exceptional performance, yet I do have a soft spot for the Palladium Silver G 63 AMG 4MATIC with Tomato Red interior. I have also had a great off-road experience in the ML 300, Auto with DBS assist which has now also found a place in my heart, I also have a soft spot for the smart fortwo Prime with the Premium Pack, this vehicle moves like the wind and sits like a swan.

MBRG Blog – It really sounds like you have the Mercedes-Benz bug! But let’s find out a little bit more about you, what’s your favourite film?

Muna – I have a lot of favourite films, but just to narrow it down, my current favourite film is ‘The Wolf Of Wall Street’, I found this film exhilarating and totally unexpected and it’s always a bonus to get your eyes on Leonardo DiCaprio. I aim to have that kind of enthusiasm running through my veins whilst working for Mercedes-Benz.

MBRG Blog – Our penultimate question Muna, what is your ultimate driving anthem?

Muna – Either Prince with Kiss or Goo Goo Dolls with Iris – depending on my mood.

MBRG Blog – And finally, which dealership will you be working at?

MunaMercedes-Benz & smart, Loughton.
