The V12 biturbo engine’s 530hp provides a top speed of 155mph and accelerates from 0-62 in 4.6 seconds. The addition of the ECO start/stop function ensures a 21 per cent improvement in fuel consumption to 25.4mpg, compared with its predecessor.
The ‘600’ has always been a legend of automotive history as the 1963 model 600 (W 100) was the first Mercedes-Benz passenger car to feature the innovative V8 injection engine, and the latest 600 does not disappoint.
With upgrades including a head-up display and touchpad, combined with the LED Intelligent Light System, MAGIC BODY CONTROL suspension and ROAD SURFACE SCAN, the S 600 provides the smoothest driving experience.
COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST PLUS technology comes as standard on the new flagship model and, in addition to the adaptive Brake Assist system, can carry out autonomous braking at speeds of up to 124mph, reducing the severity of collisions. This feature also brakes in response to stationary vehicles when driving up to 31mph and can prevent rear-end collisions at up to 25mph.
Following its debut at the Detroit Auto Show, the Mercedes-Benz S 600 will see its official UK market launch in March 2014.
