Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupé and Cabriolet
This year Mercedes are launching their new, bold and sportier E-Class Coupé and Cabriolet models. The evolution of these introduces a totally redesigned exterior, which demands attention, and has been described by some as stunning. From the diamond-look grille to the headlamps that glow red when in standby mode, the new models demonstrate uninhibited automotive styling at its best.
From the outside, the dramatic and prominent signature lines carved into the side refuse to be overlooked. They sweep the eye back to the striking rear-light clusters and strong, muscular rear section. The dual exhaust system simply emphasises the cars sportiness as do its 21-inch alloys with their distinctive turbine design.
The redesigned interior is equally stimulating with its emphasis on sporty, modern looks and the premium finishes and materials used. These include sport seats upholstered in anthracite and light grey with topstitching and piping in neon green. Eye-catching design features include aircraft jet engine-inspired air vents with backlighting that changes according to the temperature set on the climate control – red when warm, amber in mid-range and blue when cool.
The Concept Style Coupé also includes COMAND online with Mercedes cloud-based app technology ensuring the driver always remains safely connected and in control. When stationary the internet can be browsed quickly and easily using the floating tablet provided.
Included in the range of new safety features available as standard or options are radar-assisted systems, cameras and ultrasonic technology which “read” the conditions ahead and the road. As part of the Collision Prevention Assist system, forward-facing radar sensors are fitted as standard and automatically apply the brakes when a crash appears inevitable.
The new, four-cylinder turbo-charged E200 and E250 petrol and diesel engines, and the six-cylinder E350 CDI provide the power, and feature 4MATIC all-wheel drive for maximum versatility and agility. Depending upon the model chosen, the car comes with either a six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic gearbox.
The new E-Class is on sale from April 2013 – contact your local Mercedes-Benz retailer for more information.
